About ImgConverter

ImgConverter converts, compresses and resizes images inside your browser. There is no upload step and no server that sees your files, because the work happens on your own device.

How it works

The site ships image codecs compiled to WebAssembly: the same libraries used by desktop tools for JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and HEIC. When you add a file, a background worker in your browser decodes it, applies any crop, rotation or resize, and encodes the new file. Several workers run at once, so batches use all of your processor cores.

Because nothing is uploaded, large batches don't wait in a queue and there is no file count limit beyond what your device can handle. We cap a batch at 500 files and each file at 256 MB to keep browsers from running out of memory.

Why it's free

The site is a static page with no servers to pay for per conversion. Ads cover the hosting and development. There are no accounts, watermarks or premium tiers.
