Resize images

Scale photos to an exact width, height or percentage. Batch resize hundreds at once.

Good to know

  • Fit keeps the whole image inside the box. Fill crops the edges so the output is exactly the size you ask for.
  • Small images aren't enlarged unless you allow upscaling.

About the formats

Resizing uses Lanczos resampling, the same method photo editors use, so edges stay clean when you scale down.

Questions

What size should images be for a website?

1920 px wide covers full-width images on most screens. 1200 px is plenty for images inside an article.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Decoding and encoding run in your browser with WebAssembly. Open your browser's network panel while converting and you will see no image data leave the page.

How many images can I convert at once?

Up to 500 files per batch, each up to 256 MB. Download them one by one, as a ZIP, or save them straight into a folder in Chrome and Edge.

Is camera data like GPS location kept?

No. Output files are written fresh from the pixels, so EXIF data such as GPS position, camera model and date is dropped. Photos are rotated upright first, so nothing ends up sideways.
