Turn JPG files into PNG right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Good to know
PNG is lossless, so the file is usually bigger than the original JPG. The image doesn't get sharper, it just stops losing detail.
About the formats
JPG is the default photo format on cameras and the web. Every app, browser and upload form opens it, but it has no transparency and loses a little detail each time it is saved.
PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it the usual pick for screenshots, logos and UI graphics. Photos saved as PNG get large fast.
Questions
How do I convert JPG to PNG?
Drop your JPG files on the box above, or tap it to pick them. PNG is already selected, so conversion starts right away. Download each file, or grab them all as a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding and encoding run in your browser with WebAssembly. Open your browser's network panel while converting and you will see no image data leave the page.
How many images can I convert at once?
Up to 500 files per batch, each up to 256 MB. Download them one by one, as a ZIP, or save them straight into a folder in Chrome and Edge.
Is camera data like GPS location kept?
No. Output files are written fresh from the pixels, so EXIF data such as GPS position, camera model and date is dropped. Photos are rotated upright first, so nothing ends up sideways.
