Turn AVIF files into ICO right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Good to know
The ICO file holds 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 px versions. Non-square images are centered on a transparent square.
About the formats
AVIF is built on the AV1 video codec. It often beats WebP on file size, especially for photos, but encoding is slow and some older apps can't open it.
ICO bundles several icon sizes in one file. Browsers use it for favicon.ico and Windows uses it for shortcut icons.
Questions
How do I convert AVIF to ICO?
Drop your AVIF files on the box above, or tap it to pick them. ICO is already selected, so conversion starts right away. Download each file, or grab them all as a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding and encoding run in your browser with WebAssembly. Open your browser's network panel while converting and you will see no image data leave the page.
How many images can I convert at once?
Up to 500 files per batch, each up to 256 MB. Download them one by one, as a ZIP, or save them straight into a folder in Chrome and Edge.
Is camera data like GPS location kept?
No. Output files are written fresh from the pixels, so EXIF data such as GPS position, camera model and date is dropped. Photos are rotated upright first, so nothing ends up sideways.
